HISTORY: Ancient Greek Timelines
We are investigating what influence the Ancient Greeks have had on modern life. We started by creating some timelines of key dates during the classical period. We started by discovering that all these dates were BCE dates. This means that the Ancient Greek period was over 2000 years ago. We then remembered that when dealing with BCE dates, they count down towards the year 1, so we used this to help us put our dates into order. To give a sense of time passing, we used a scale of 10cm to 100 years in order to correctly place these events relative to each other. Finally, we looked through and thought about which things might still influence the way we live now; things like the Olympic Games and the work of certain philosophers, scientists and mathematicians.
