Drawing is the artistic process of creating marks on a surface using lines and other techniques, using various tools and methods like hatching and shading to create the illusion of form and texture.
M.C. Escher
His full name was Maurits Cornelis Escher, and he was a Dutch graphic artist who lived a long time ago, from 1898 to 1972.
He is famous for creating art that uses mind-bending optical illusions, impossible buildings, and repeating patterns.
He was left-handed, just like some other famous artists like Michelangelo and Leonardo da Vinci.
Unlike some artists who use paint and a brush, Escher was a printmaker. This means he created his artwork by pressing an inked block or stone onto paper to make a copy.
Many of his black-and-white pictures were made from a block of wood. He would carefully carve away the parts he didn't want to print. Then, he'd roll ink over the raised parts and press paper onto it to get his print.
