Reading
At Hingham we have a love for reading and we know that learning to read takes time, effort and the right tools for the job!
All our teaching approaches aim to develop independent, confident readers.
We do not teach children to read so that they pass the reading test at the end of year 6; we teach children to read so they can access learning in EVERY subject in school and access the wider world.
Our vision is for every child to be nurtured to have a love of reading and to learn the necessary skills to read confidently and accurately. We know that being able to read is essential to achieve lifelong learning and success.
