Welcome to Kingfisher Class!
Miss Gooch here! Keep visiting this page as the children will be updating our page every week to keep you updated on our learning.
It's been a another busy week (and thank goodness, no snow this week).
The children have been continuing with their work on shapes in maths. The children have been learning about 3d shapes this week. They have been using nets to make and describe 3d shapes. On Wednesday the children did a bit of 'grappling' when they were set the challenge of using polydron to make shapes. They had to use their knowledge of 3d shapes and use this to find the 2d shapes on the faces of 3d shapes. The children found this tricky but stuck at it!
We've been continuing with our work on the Oliver Jeffers book 'Here We Are'. This week the children have been writing their own non-chronological reports about habitats. The children researched different types of habitats and used this to help them with their writing.
The MadMURCHhare launched his twitter competition this week. Please follow him on twitter and add your 'spotted' adventures by tweeting him.
On Friday the children drew their designs of the crazy adventures that the MadMURCHhare has been on.
If you know any good apps, let Miss Gooch know and she will add them onto our page.
