Who's Who

Come and meet the staff at our school!

Mrs Newrick - Headteacher

I came to Hingham Primary School in January 2010 having worked on the Isles of Scilly and in London. Initially I was Deputy head and in April 2012 I was appointed as Headteacher.
I am a mum of 2 primary age children, so spend my spare time having fun with them walking in the woods and attempting to grow fruit and vegetables in our garden with occasional success! Reading is my way of relaxing and I enjoy reading novels linked to history or other cultures.

Mrs Spencer - Butterfly class teacher (Thursday and Friday) and SENCO

I started at Hingham  in 1999 and have taught in Reception, Year 1, 3 and 4 children throughout my time here. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my own family and going to the seaside. I love making things and dancing. I belong to Bollywood Sparkles dance group and spend many of my weekends performing with the group.

Miss Fry - Butterfly class - Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday (EYFS)

Mr Stead - Owl Class  (Year 1)

Miss Gooch - Kingfisher Class (Year 2) and Deputy head teacher

I started at Hingham Primary in September 2012.  When I'm not at school I might be found out running (preparing for a half marathon in October). I enjoy keeping myself busy whether this be taking part in different sports, walking my dog Wesley or visiting the Canaries at Carrow Road.

Mr Pick - Hedgehog Class (Year 4)

Mrs Davidson -  Literacy and Outdoor learning lead and Fox Class teacher (Year 3)

I have been teaching at Hingham since 2003 and in my time here I think I've taught nearly every year group at some point!   The best part about teaching is I get the opportunity to make children as passionate about reading fabulous books as I am and to get them enthused about life in the past during our topic lessons.  I need no excuse to get the class outside and learning in the great outdoors and I'm afraid I'm pretty partial to a bit of messy artwork too!
At home I am kept active looking after my small menagerie of pets including a humbug miniature Schnauzer called Betty, two mad cats called Izzy and Bella, and a number of dysfunctional fish. When I’m not busy walking the dog, I can be found in my garden, at the theatre, with my head buried in a good book or 'screwing the lightbulbs' in the same Bollywood dance troupe as Mrs Spencer!

Miss Khanam - Forest School Leader and Fox Class teacher (Thursdays and Fridays).

Mrs Dixon - Badger Class (Year 5)

I joined Hingham Primary in 2004, initially to teach in Year 3 but have now taught all years in the primary phase and each have their different challenges! Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family, which as well as a husband and daughter, include a cocker spaniel, a cat and two fish. I love anything musical, both listening and performing. I sing with a local theatre company and play the flute. I also enjoy sewing and a good John Gresham novel!

Miss Carr - Otter Class (Year 6)

I’m the ever so mad Norwich City fan here on the staff at Hingham. I like to think I am open, honest and fun with all the brilliant children in my class. They all know I adore elephants and am totally fanatical about anything which involves being creative!
